On a monthly comparison basis, Montenegro's consumer prices edged up by 0.1% in April, after rising by 0.5% in March, the statistical office said in a statement.
In April, annual inflation was primarily driven by a 13.2% increase in restaurant and hotel prices and an 11.3% rise in clothing and footwear prices. Prices of housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuel prices rose 7.1% year-on-year, whereas prices of healthcare services rose by 6.4%.
Prices of communication services increased 5.2%, furniture, household equipment, and household maintenance prices rose by 4.5% year-on-year in March, and prices of recreation and culture activities increased by 4.3%.
