March 29 (SeeNews) - Montenegro’s trade gap widened by an annual 26% to 239.4 million euro ($258 million) in February, the country's statistical office said.
Exports fell by 31.9% year-on-year to 107.9 million euro in February, while imports went up 11.2% to 529.4 million euro, the statistical office said in a statement on Thursday.
Montenegro's key export destinations were Serbia, which attracted exports worth 30.2 million euro, the Czech Republic with 12.5 million euro, and Poland with 10.9 million euro.
Imports into the country originated mainly in Serbia, which accounted for 81.9 million euro worth of imports, China with 64.5 million euro and Germany with 58.1 million euro.
In 2023, Montenegro’s trade gap widened by 10% to 3.13 billion euro.
