The responsible ministries and Montenegro's power grid operator, CEDIS acted swiftly to ensure the timely fulfillment of obligations under the construction contract with the consortium of local company Novi Volvox and Italy's Leitner, news agency Mina reported.

The gondola will be open during the entire tourist season, from May 1 to November 1.

In 2021, the total value of the project was estimated at 20 million euro ($21.3 million).

In December 2021, Montenegro hired the consortium to build the gondola lift and manage it over a 30-year period. As part of the agreement, the state pledged to build the public infrastructure, including the needed electrical facilities, and to enable the concessionaire to switch to the power grid by April 15, 2023 at the latest.

Last month, the Montenegrin government urged all relevant state institutions to meet their contractual obligations and enable the launch.
