Montenegro to hike electricity prices by 5.6% from Jan 1 - report

November 24 (SeeNews) - Montenegro will increase the electricity prices for households by 5.6% from January 1, director general of the country's energy regulator Igor Telebak was cited as saying by local media on Friday.

“For a household with two-tariff metering, the monthly bill will increase by 1.51 euro ($1.65), or 5.63%,” Telebak was quoted as saying by state broadcaster RTCG.

He said that the exact amount of the price increase will be known on November 27.

The current price of electricity is 0.06 euro per KWh on the higher tariff, and 0.04 euro on the lower tariff.

Montenegro's consumer price index rose by 6.1% year-on-year in October.
