PODGORICA (Montenegro), November 2 (SeeNews) – Montenegro said it has signed a deal for the construction of two bulk cargo carriers worth $27.88 million (37.75 million euro) each with a Shanghai-based shipyard, aiming to renew its maritime fleet.
The final talks on the deal, which will be loan-financed by the Chinese government, were wrapped up in Shanghai and Beijing two weeks ago, the Montenegrin government said in a statement on its website on Friday.
The Chinese side is expected to complete the procedure for the conclusion of the credit arrangement within three weeks.
The end of that process will mark the beginning of the delivery timeframe which is 21 months for the first of the 35,000-tonne vessels and 24 for the second one.
