April 2 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's two international airports, in Podgorica and Tivat, served over 290,000 passengers since the start of the year to March 24, up 24% compared to the pre-pandemic 2019, the president of the board of directors of state-owned airport operator Aerodromi Crne Gore, Jelena Maras, said in a press release issued by the National Tourism Organisation (NTO).
On April 1, UK-based low-cost airline Jet2 launched a seasonal summer service connecting London Stansted to Montenegro’s coastal town of Tivat, NTO said on Monday.
In addition to London Stansted, the UK will be also connected to Tivat this summer with direct flights from London Gatwick, London Luton and Manchester airports as well as Birmingham and Bristol.
The airports in Podgorica and Tivat served a total of 2.51 million passengers last year, up from 1.92 million in 2022.
