Moldova's Universalbank Raises Capital to 109.2 Mln Lei (6.9 Mln Euro)

CHISINAU (Moldova), August 18 (SeeNews) – Moldovan commercial bank Universalbank has raised its capital to 109.2 million lei ($9.7 million/6.9 million euro) through a 22.4 million lei share issue, Moldova’s Securities Commission, CNPF, said on Tuesday.

The bank has issued 13,494 shares at a price equal to their par value of 1,660 lei each, CNPF said in a statement.

Universalbank had a capital of 86.8 million lei divided into 52,314 shares before the share issue.

The net profit of Universalbank rose to 127,004 lei in the first quarter of 2009 from 35,301 lei net profit a year earlier.
