October 14 (SeeNews) - Transdniestria's September monthly inflation accelerated to 0.6% from 0.3% in August, data from the central bank of Moldova's breakaway region showed.
The rebel region's end-year inflation slowed to 25.11% in 2008 from 29.42% in 2007.
The region, with a population of 700,000, considers itself an independent state. Moldova has offered it a broad autonomy but Transdniestria, led by President Igor Smirnov, is seeking full independence.
