The country's exports fell 8% year-on-year in the nine months through September, while imports decreased by 4.8%.
The European Union absorbed 63.9% of Moldova's exports between January and September and accounted for 48.5% of the country's imports.
In September alone, Moldova's exports increased by an annual 8.6% to $346.2 million, while imports fell by 17% to $700.8 million, resulting in a trade deficit of $354.6 million, down 32.5% year-on-year.
