October 29 (SeeNews) - The average monthly salary in Moldova, one of Europe's poorest nations, rose by an annual 17% to 2,494 lei ($240/186 euro) in September, the country's statistics office said on Wednesday.

The average monthly salary was 1,865 lei in the public sector and 2,816 lei in the private sector in September, the statistics office said in a statement.
