November 7 (SeeNews) - Moldova's trade deficit widened by 53.6% on the year to $2.469 billion (1.9 billion euro) in January to September, as imports rose faster than exports, the country's statistics bureau said on Friday.

The exports-to-imports ratio was 32.8% through September, down from 36.5% a year earlier, the statistics office said in a statement.

Moldova's government projects that the country's trade deficit will rise to $3.53 billion this year from $2.35 billion in 2007.
