Prices of services and food continued to be the main inflation driver in September, rising by an annual 14.9% and 8.2%, respectively, the National Bureau of Statistics, BNS, said in a statement.
Prices of non-food products rose 5% on the year in September.
On a monthly comparison basis, Moldova's consumer prices added 0.5% in September, following a 0.1% decrease in August. Food prices rose by 0.42% on the month, accounting for an increase of 0.15 percentage points in average consumer prices. Prices of services increased by 0.62%, while non-food prices were up by 0.40% on the month in September.
On September 19, Moldova's central bank decided to keep its policy rate unchanged at 6%, following five consecutive rate cuts implemented since August 2022.
