Moldova's GDP contracts 0.7% in 2012 - revised data

The figure was revised from a 0.8% fall announced earlier this year.

Calculated at current prices, Moldova's gross domestic product (GDP) totalled 88.22 billion lei ($6.8 billion/4.9 billion euro) last year, the office said in a statement last week.

The gross value added in the economy declined by 9.0% last year. Final consumption expanded by 0.9% last year while household consumption increased 1.0%.

Exports and imports rose by 1.7% and 2.2%, respectively, in 2012, the office added.
