Interested companies can place letters of intent by 1600 local time (1400 GMT) on December 23, the EBRD said on its website.
The main task of the consultancy services will be preparation of design for the rehabilitation of key aerodrome functional elements and a 3.59-kilometre runway pavement and shoulders as well as other airport facilities. The services also include the design for the upgrade of the terminal building or for the construction of the second terminal, EBRD said.
EBRD plans to lend 19 million euro ($24 million) to the Chisinau airport to finance its rehabilitation and upgrade. The total cost of the upgrade is 38 million euro.
Chisinau airport handled 662,500 passengers in the first nine months of 2008, up 26% on the year, the country's Civil Aviation Department, CAA, has reported.
