September 4 (SeeNews) - Moldovan flag carrier Air Moldova said its passenger traffic rose by 7.0% on the year to 50,600 in August.
The most popular outbound destinations during the review period were Moscow, Rome and Milan, the company said in a statement.
Traffic on the Moscow route rose by 22% in August, while on flights to Rome and Milan it was up 24% on the year.
Air Moldova operated 17 regular international routes in August, the company added.
Air Moldova is the leading carrier in Moldova with a share of over 50% of the total passenger traffic in the country. Earlier this year the carrier said it sees the growth of its passenger traffic slowing to 10% this year from 19% last year due to the global economic downturn.
