Moldovan Banks' End-August Credit Portfolio Rises 36% Y/Y - Table

September 22 (SeeNews) - The loan portfolio of Moldovan commercial banks totalled 24.4 billion lei ($2.3 billion/1.6 billion euro) at the end of August, up 36% from a year earlier, the country's central bank, BNM, said on Monday.

The average interest rate on foreign currency loans rose to 12.39% at the end of August from 10.80% a year earlier. The average interest rate on leu-denominated loans increased to 22.76% from 19.06% in August last year, the central bank said.
