The 42-kilometre pipeline will connect the Romanian northeastern city of Iasi and the Moldovan western town of Ungheni. The total cost of the project is estimated at 20 million euro ($26 million).
"The technical project of the pipeline has been completed and the economy ministry will call tender on November-December," the minister Valeriu Lazar said in a statement on Thursday.
Earlier in May, Lazar said that the ministry would call tender in June or July.
The reversible pipeline is to provide an alternative gas supply routes for both countries, especially for Moldova which has no gas deposits of its own and covers all of its gas needs by importing the fuel from Russia via a pipeline transiting Ukraine.
