Moldova Sells 131.3 Mln Lei (7.85 Mln Euro) in T-bills, Yields Fall

December 1 (SeeNews) - The Moldovan central bank, BNM, sold 131.3 million lei ($12 million/7.85 million euro) in four Treasury bill issues on Tuesday, above its target offer of 101 million lei, as yields on the longer maturities fell.

Primary dealers placed bids for a total of 345.4 million lei worth of government securities in the auction, BNM said in a statement. The central bank, which sells the T-bills on behalf of the Finance Ministry, offered 21-day, 91-day, 182-day and 364-day T-bills.

The yield on the 21-day T-bills remained unchanged from the previous auction last Tuesday at 2.46%. Dealers placed bids for 29.7 million lei worth of T-bills versus 21 million lei on offer.

The yield on the 91-day T-bills fell to 3.86% from 4.49% at the previous auction on November 24. Dealers placed bids for 90.1 million lei worth of T-bills versus 29 million lei on offer.

The 182-day T-bills yielded 8.76%, lower than the 9.65% achieved on November 24. The BNM received bids for 177.7 million lei worth of T-bills, compared to 40 million lei on offer.

The yield on the 364-day T-bills was 10.36%, down from 10.83% in the previous auction, as dealers placed bids for 47.8 million lei worth of T-bills versus 11 million lei on offer.
