Moldova Sells 124.2 Mln Lei (7.0 Mln Euro) in T-bills, Yields Mostly Rise

December 29 (SeeNews) - The Moldovan central bank, BNM, sold 124.2 million lei (10.1 million/7.0 million euro) in four Treasury bill issues on Tuesday, above its target offer of 102 million lei, as yields mostly rose.

Primary dealers placed bids for a total of 152.6 million lei worth of government securities in the auction, BNM said in a statement. The central bank, which sells Treasury paper on behalf of the Finance Ministry, offered 21-day, 91-day, 182-day and 364-day T-bills.

The yield on the 21-day T-bills rose to 2.29% from 1.93% at the previous auction held last Tuesday. Dealers placed bids for 21.5 million lei worth of T-bills versus 21 million lei on offer.

The yield on the 91-day T-bills was up to 2.61% from 2.07% at the previous auction on December 22. Dealers placed bids for 44.36 million lei worth of T-bills versus 29 million lei on offer.

The 182-day T-bills yielded 4.82%, higher than 3.75% achieved on December 22. The BNM received bids for 54.5 million lei worth of T-bills, compared to 40 million lei on offer.

The yield on the 364-day T-bills was 6.06%, down from 6.36% in the previous auction, as dealers placed bids for 32.2 million lei worth of T-bills versus 12 million lei on offer.
