September 8 (SeeNews) - The Moldovan central bank, BNM, said it sold 123.6 million lei ($11.0 million/7.7 million euro) in four Treasury bill issues on Tuesday, above its target offer of 97 million lei, as yields on all issues rose.
Primary dealers placed bids for a total of 166.24 million lei worth of government securities in the auction, BNM said in a statement. The central bank, which sells the T-bills on behalf of the Finance Ministry, offered 21-day, 91-day, 182-day and 364-day T-bills.
The yield on the 21-day T-bills grew to 2.46% from 2.11% at the previous auction on September 1. Dealers placed bids for 42 million lei worth of T-bills versus 23 million lei on offer.
The yield on the 91-day T-bills rose to 4.96% from 3.48% at the previous auction. Dealers placed bids for 58.4 million lei worth of T-bills versus 29 million lei on offer.
The 182-day T-bills yielded 6.74%, higher than the 5.45% achieved on September 1. The BNM received bids for 47.3 million lei worth of T-bills, compared to 35 million lei on offer.
The yield on the 364-day T-bills was up to 8.11% from 7.91% at the previous auction, as dealers placed bids for 18.54 million lei worth of T-bills versus 10 million lei on offer.
