Moldova sells 117.2 mln lei (6.2 mln euro) in T-bills, yields rise

December 30 (SeeNews) - Moldova sold 117.2 million lei ($7.5 million/6.2 million euro) in three Treasury bill issues on Tuesday, below its target offer of 170 million lei, the central bank said.

Primary dealers placed bids for about 130 million lei in 87-day, 178-day and 360-day T-bills in the auction, the central bank, which auctions government securities on behalf of the finance ministry, said in a statement on its website.

The average yield on the 87-day T-bills rose to 6.73% from 6.14% achieved at the previous auction, held on December 23. The finance ministry sold securities worth 23.9 million lei.

The average yield on the 178-day government paper climbed to 12.18% from 11.24%. The ministry sold T-bills worth 42 million lei.

Yields on the 360-day T-bills increased to 12.77% from 11.75% with 51.3 million lei in debt paper being sold.
