Moldova Sells 106.6 Mln Lei (6.4 Mln Euro) in T-bills, Yields Down

October 20 (SeeNews) - The Moldovan central bank, BNM, sold 106.6 million lei ($9.6 million/6.4 million euro) in four Treasury bill issues on Tuesday, above its target offer of 82 million lei, as yields on all the issues fell.

Primary dealers placed bids for a total of 170.9 million lei worth of government securities in the auction, BNM said in a statement. The central bank, which sells the T-bills on behalf of the Finance Ministry, offered 21-day, 91-day, 182-day and 364-day T-bills.

The yield on the 21-day T-bills fell to 2.82% from 3.0% at the previous auction on October 13. Dealers placed bids for 29.3 million lei worth of T-bills versus 14 million lei on offer.

The yield on the 91-day T-bills decreased to 6.38% from 6.55% at the previous auction. Dealers placed bids for 56.7 million lei worth of T-bills versus 27 million lei on offer.

The 182-day T-bills yielded 11.00%, lower than the 11.23% achieved on October 13. The BNM received bids for 69.6 million lei worth of T-bills, compared to 31 million lei on offer.

The yield on the 364-day T-bills was slightly down to 11.35% from 11.37% at the previous auction, as dealers placed bids for 15.3 million lei worth of T-bills versus 10 million lei on offer.
