The virus was found in a 21-year-old man, who arrived from Bulgaria on September 2, the ministry said in a statement.
The A/H1N1, popularly known as swine flu virus, is easily transmitted through coughing or sneezing. The infection, which can be deadly to humans, cannot be contracted through consumption of thermally processed pork meat. Its symptoms are similar to the symptoms of the common flu.
Moldova has reported no swine flu-related deaths so far.
