Moldova 11-mo cons budget gap widens 139%

December 22 (SeeNews) - Moldova's consolidated budget deficit widened 139% to 1.08 billion lei ($68.8 million/56.1 million euro) in the first 11 months of 2014, finance ministry data showed on Monday.

The government in Chisinau had targeted a budget deficit of 5.68 billion lei for the 11-month period, the ministry said in a statement posted on its website.

Consolidated budget revenue rose by an annual 15.2% to 37.7 billion lei in the January-November period, while spending increased 16.9% to 38.8 billion lei.

Moldova's consolidated budget includes the central government budget, provincial governments' budgets, the social insurance budget and the public health insurance budget.

Moldova paid 851.8 million lei to service its foreign debt in the first 11 months of the year. The government also paid 343.3 million lei on its domestic debt in the period under review.

In 2013 Moldova's consolidated budget deficit narrowed 4.3% to 1.76 billion lei.
