The company has leased office space in a building within the United Business Center office complex owned by Iulius Group in Iasi, Marquardt said in a press release.

"An important component of the growth of the R&D Center is its expansion in the North-East Region, where our strategy provided for the opening of office spaces in Iasi. Here we already have a first core of employees who work full-time online, specialists in software development, and we are going to develop the component in Iasi, hiring more than 50 experts in embedded programming" said General Manager of Marquardt Romania, Mourad Halilou.

Marquardt Group employs some 10,000 people at its 20 branches across Europe, North America, Africa and Asia.

In Romania, the company owns a production facility in the city of Sibiu, where it employed 2,213 people at end-2021. Last year, Marquardt Romania booked a turnover of 1.34 billion lei ($286.8 million/272.3 million euro) and a net profit of 24.2 million lei, data from the finance ministry's website showed.
