Macon Raises Stake in Romanian Building Materials Maker Simcor Oradea to 95.7%

November 5 (SeeNews) - Romanian industrial construction materials maker Macon has raised its holding in peer Simcor Oradea to some 95.7% after acquiring a 17.3% stake for 14.8 million lei ($5.2 million/4.0 million euro) in a buyout bid that ended on Tuesday.

Macon, owned by Polish-based private equity manager Enterprise Investors (EI), placed a buyout bid for 21.55% of Simcor Oradea on October 10 on the over-the-counter market RASDAQ, offering to pay 17.5 lei per share.

Simcor Oradea shares last traded in regular trading on Monday, ending unchanged at 17.1 lei.

The company is part of Simcor Group, which was acquired by Macon in July for 53 million euro ($69 million). Under the deal, Macon bought majority stakes in the seven companies comprising the Simcor Group: 78.45% in Simcor Oradea, 50.14% in Simbeton, 93.06% in Simterac, and 100% in each of Simcor Var, Simcor Management, Simpromat and Simsped.
