Macedonia's Stopanska Banka Bitola 9-mo net loss halves

October 30 (SeeNews) - Macedonia's Stopanska Banka Bitola [MSE:SBT] said on Tuesday its net loss dropped to 257.1 million denars ($5.4 million/4.2 million euro) in the first nine months of 2012 from 557.8 million denars a year earlier.

Net interest income fell 28% to 114 million denars in the first nine months, while net fee and commission income decreased to some 26 million denars from 32.6 million denars, Stopanska Banka Bitola said in a filing with the Macedonian Stock Exchange.

Stopanska Banka Bitola is a component of the bourse's blue-chip MBI index.

Sixteen banks operate in the country of some 2.0 million people.
