Macedonia's September Tourist Numbers Rise 10.8% Y/Y – Table

November 11 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists staying in Macedonia rose by 10.8% on the year to 44,050 in September after increasing by an annual 16.3% in August, the country's Statistics Office said on Tuesday.

In September, overnights increased by a yearly 12.7% to 104,189, the statistics office said in a statement.

In the nine months through September the number of tourists rose by 12.4 % to 495,540, as the number of overnights rose by 10.1% to 1,997,241.

Most foreign tourists who visited the landlocked country of two million people in September came from Serbia, Albania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Israel, Great Britain, and Holland.

Popular Macedonian tourist destinations include the lakeside towns of Ohrid, Struga, and Dojran, ski resort Popova Sapka, and the Mavrovo national mountain park.
