Macedonia’s MEPSO to start tendering for grid upgrade project in Q1’13 -TED

SKOPJE (Macedonia), November 29 (SeeNews) – Macedonian power transmission operator MEPSO plans to start tendering in the first quarter of 2013 for a grid rehabilitation and power system control project estimated at 40 million euro ($51.6 million), the European Union’s procurement journal announced on Thursday.

Contracts will be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Tenders Electronic Daily (TED) said on its website.

The project will require the procurement of the following goods, works and services:

-Supply and installation of equipment for sub-stations,

-Supply and installation of remote monitoring, video supervision, controlling and adjustment of sub-stations,

-Closing of optical network in the transmission grid and preparation of a model for maximum utilization,

-Rehabilitation of 110 kilovolt (kV) Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL) and

-Consulting services to the Project Implementation Unit (PIU).
