Macedonia's July Tourist Numbers Rise 0.5% Y/Y – Table

September 12 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists in Macedonia in July rose by 0.5% on the year to 109,438 after increasing by an annual 12% in June, the country's Statistics Office said on Friday.

In July overnights increased by a yearly 2.7% to 690,494, the statistics office said in a statement.

The number of tourists in the six months through July rose by 11.3 % on the year to 334,867, as the number of overnights rose by 8.1% to 1,191,461.

Most foreign tourists who visited the landlocked country of two million people in July came from Serbia, Albania, Bulgaria, and Israel. Popular Macedonian tourist sites include the lakeside towns of Ohrid and Struga, ski resort Popova Sapka, and the Mavrovo national mountain park.
