In July overnights increased by a yearly 2.7% to 690,494, the statistics office said in a statement.
The number of tourists in the six months through July rose by 11.3 % on the year to 334,867, as the number of overnights rose by 8.1% to 1,191,461.

Most foreign tourists who visited the landlocked country of two million people in July came from Serbia, Albania, Bulgaria, and Israel. Popular Macedonian tourist sites include the lakeside towns of Ohrid and Struga, ski resort Popova Sapka, and the Mavrovo national mountain park.
