October 13 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists staying in Macedonia in August dropped 5.0% on the year to 110,837 after falling by an annual 4.0% a month earlier, data of the country's Statistics Office showed on Tuesday.
In August, overnights fell by an annual 7.6% to 648,542 with foreigners accounting for 80,859 of the total, the statistics office said in a statement.
A total of 446,542 tourists visited Macedonia in the first eight months of 2009, down by 1.1% on the year. Overnights for the period decreased by an annual 6.2% to 1,775,719.
