October 6 (SeeNews) - The estimated value of construction projects covered by building permits issued in Macedonia dropped by 8.6% on the month to 1.6 billion denars ($38 million/25.8 million euro) in August, the country's Statistics Office said on Tuesday.
Year-on-year, their value decreased by 37.3%.
A total of 225 construction permits were issued in August, down 13.1% on the month and 29% less than a year earlier. They included 189 permits issued to individuals and 36 granted to companies, the statistics office said in a statement.
The total number of building permits issued in August included 172 permits for buildings, 18 for civil engineering projects and 35 for reconstruction projects.
