Macedonia’s Alkaloid sees at least 5.0% rise in cons pre-tax profit in 2013

SKOPJE (Macedonia), December 31 (SeeNews) – Macedonia's leading drug maker Alkaloid [MSE:ALK] expects its consolidated pre-tax profit to rise by at least 5.0% next year.

The company gave no figure for its consolidated pre-tax profit in 2012. It, however, has said it expects an increase by at least 10% from 662.2 million denars ($14.2 million/10.8 million euro) reported a year earlier.

The company’s consolidated sales are expected to rise by at least 6.0% in 2013, Alkaloid said in its business plan for next year sent to the Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE) on Friday. Exports are expected to account for 59.2% of consolidated sales.

The business plan was adopted by the company's management board on December 28.

In the first nine months of 2012 Alkaloid’s consolidated net profit edged down to some 435 million denars from 437.8 million denars a year earlier.

In 2011 its net profit rose 7.0% to 616.2 million denars.

Blue-chip Alkaloid (www.alkaloid.com.mk) has representative offices in over 10 countries and distributes its products on some 30 markets.
