The MBI-10 index, tracking the 10 blue-chip companies on the Macedonian bourse, closed 2.5% down from a week earlier at 4.337,75 points on Friday. The MBID index, which includes the shares of the 10 most liquid public companies, closed 4.9% down from the previous week at 4.175,86.
“The bourse feels the effects of the U.S. crisis very strongly. The psychological moment was the crucial [factor] for investors to show restraint,” Julijana Angelovska from Alta Vista Brokers told SeeNews.
Total turnover on the MSE fell to 86.02 million denars ($1.98 million/1.43 million euro) this week, 24% down from a week earlier. Turnover on the official floor dropped to 77.01 million denars from 102.72 million denars last week, while turnover on the unofficial floor fell to 9.01 million denars from 10.38 million denars a week earlier.
With transactions worth 23.65 million denars, the shares of Komercijalna Banka were the most traded ones this week.
