Macedonian Stock Indices Extend Solid Gains in Higher Turnover – Table

September 18 (SeeNews) - The indices of the Macedonian Stock Exchange JSC (MSE) extended their hefty gains this week as turnover rose, bourse data showed on Friday.

The MBI-10 index, which tracks the 10 blue-chip companies on the MSE, closed at 2,944.31 points, up 7.3% from last Friday. The broader MBID index, which comprises the 11 most liquid public companies, added 8.6% from last Friday to 2,747.18.

The MSE's total turnover jumped to 123.49 million denars ($2.95 million/2.01 million euro) from 49.91 million denars in last week's four trading sessions.

The Skopje bourse was closed on September 8 due to the celebration of Independence Day, a public and market holiday in Macedonia.

Turnover on the bourse's official floor increased to 100.02 million denars from 38.99 million denars last week. Turnover on the unofficial floor more than doubled to 23.47 million denars from 10.92 million denars a week earlier.

Pharmaceutical company Alkaloid AD Skopje was the most traded company this week, recording a total turnover of 18.3 million denars.
