The MBI-10 index, tracking the 10 blue-chip companies on the Macedonian bourse, closed up 1.5% from a week earlier at 3.590,74 on Friday. The MBID index, which includes the shares of the 10 most liquid public companies, closed down 4.9% from last Friday at 3.717,84.
The MSE reinstated on Wednesday its old trading rules after narrowing last week the permissible daily price fluctuations to avoid a market slump. Although the measure stabilised the market, the blue-chip index fell 4.5% on Thursday to 3.611,74 points after rising by 4.48% on Wednesday.
“The ripple effect from the world markets is still felt. When foreign markets fall, the stocks here immediately follow suit”, Julijana Angelovska from Alta Vista Brokers told SeeNews.
Total turnover on the MSE fell to 178.02 million denars ($3.9 million/2.9 million euro) from 617.15 million denars a week earlier. Turnover on the official floor fell to 167.27 million denars from 605.67 million denars last week. Turnover on the unofficial floor fell to 10.78 million denars from 11.48 million denars a week earlier.
The shares of Komercijalna_Banka_AD_Skopje were the most traded this week with transactions worth 65.9 million denars.
