November 3 (SeeNews) - Macedonian blue-chip heating utility Toplifikacija said on Tuesday its preliminary pre-tax profit rose eightfold to 146.4 million denars ($3.5 million/2.4 million euro) in the first nine months of 2009, from 18.4 million denars a year ago.

Toplifikacija is a component of MSE's blue-chip index. Its shares closed at 6,000 denars on Tuesday, 0.1% down from a day earlier.
Toplifikacija (www.toplif.com.mk) supplies heating energy to the Macedonian capital Skopje, a city of some 700,000 people. The utility has an installed capacity of 560 megawatts.
