Macedonian Drug Maker Alkaloid's 9-Mo Prelim Net Profit Rises 5.2% Y/Y - Table

SKOPJE (Macedonia), October 28 (SeeNews) - Macedonia's leading drug maker, Alkaloid AD Skopje , said on Tuesday its preliminary net profit rose 5.2% year-on-year to 315.26 million denars ($6.35 million/5.06 million euro) in the first nine months of 2008.

Alkaloid’s sales revenue increased to 3.12 billion denars in the January-September period from 2.67 billion a year earlier.

Following are figures from Alkaloid's income statement sent to the Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE), where the company is listed (in millions of denars):

Alkaloid's shares are among the 10 most liquid stocks in the blue-chip index of the Macedonian Stock Exchange. They were quoted at 4,518 denars on Tuesday, 3% up from a day earlier.

Alkaloid says it is the market leader in Macedonia with a market share of 20 to 25 percent. Based in the capital, Skopje, Alkaloid (www.alkaloid.com.mk) has representative offices in over 10 countries and distributes its products in some 30 countries.
