Macedonia seeks consultant for national road project - EBRD

SKOPJE (Macedonia), December 23 (SeeNews) – Macedonia’s Public Enterprise for State Roads is seeking a consultant to provide assistance to oversee a project for construction and reconstruction works on four national road sections, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which will finance the project, said on Tuesday.

The EBRD is considering a loan of up to 162.5 million euro ($201 million) to Macedonia’s Public Enterprise for State Roads for the reconstruction of Stip-Kocani road section, as well as for the construction of the following sections; Raec-Drenovo, Trebenista-Struga and Ohrid-Pestani, the EBRD said in a statement.

The consultancy assignment, which is to provide specialist assistance to the Project Implementation Unit (PIU), is expected to start in the second quarter of 2015 and should be completed within 60 months. 

The maximum budget available for the assignment is 450,000 euro. Letters of interest should be sent by January 30, 2015.

A shortlist of qualified companies will be invited to submit proposals. 

The contract will be financed through the Central European Initiative (CEI) Fund, which is subject to final approval by the donor.
