Macedonia says local ArcelorMittal invests 3.5 mln euro in upgrades

SKOPJE (Macedonia), October 5 (SeeNews) – Macedonian steel and ferro-alloys plant ArcelorMittal has invested 3.5 million euro ($4.5 million) in upgrading its galvanising equipment, the Macedonian environment ministry said.

The equipment was put into operation following the upgrade, which was aimed at increasing the quality of production and improving energy efficiency, the ministry said in a statement on Thursday after environment minister Abdilaqim Ademi attended the launching ceremony.

Skopje-based ArcelorMittal is part of global steel corporation ArcelorMittal Group.
