Macedonia Q2 residential fixed-line subscribers fall 1.85% y/y

SKOPJE (Macedonia), October 26 (SeeNews) – The number of residential fixed-line subscribers in Macedonia fell by 1.85% on the year to 364,340 in the second quarter of 2012, the country's telecoms regulator said.

Compared to the previous quarter, the number of residential fixed-line subscribers decreased by 1.58%, the Agency for Electronic Communications (AEC) said in its Q2 market report published on Thursday.

Makedonski Telekom had a market share of 67.29% in terms of the number of landline subscribers at the end of June, down from 73.18% a year earlier.

Thirty-four fixed-line carriers are active in the country of two million people, the AEC said.
