Macedonia - Media Review – September 30

MIA
- Macedonia's Liaison Office in Pristina urged the Kosovo authorities to take legal action for identifying and bringing to justice the perpetrators of the recent incident, when Macedonian flag was set on fire during a soccer match in Pristina. Macedonia's Foreign Ministry has deplored the incident, saying that in such sensitive moments each step should be in favor of calming, not stirring of tensions. The incident followed the publication of the Macedonian Encyclopedia by the Macedonian Science and Art Academy that stirred protests among ethnic Albanians in Macedonia who believe their community was portrayed in a negative historical context.

- The old mansion complex of the St. Jovan Bigorski monastery, in Western Macedonia, burned to the ground early this morning but no injuries were reported in the fire accident.
