- The Prime Ministers of Macedonia and Greece, Nikola Gruevski and George Papandreou, will meet on Thursday on the sidelines of EU Council meeting in Brussels. Macedonia is involved in a 18-year-old name dispute with its southern neighbour, which objects to the use of the name Republic of Macedonia, saying it implies territorial claims to the northernmost Greek province of the same name.

- Macedonia's government will keep spending at high levels, as it plans a budget deficit of 2.5% of GDP for 2010. Over the medium term, the government expects the budget deficit to narrow to some 2.0% of GDP, even though the International Monetary Fund recommended a budget gap of up to 1.5%.

- Macedonian Parliament on Wednesday adopted amendments to the law on construction that allow confiscation of land and buildings constructed illegally.
