- Macedonia may use some 622 million euro from the EU’s Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) programme by 2013. "The EU money is very important for the Macedonian economy to become more competitive on the European markets," the Economy Minister Fatmir Besimi said.

- Macedonia’s State Lottery will start operating at the end of the year, its director Jovan Siljanovski said on Tuesday. The company was established by the Macedonian government in December 2008, with a capital of 4.5 million euro.
