VECER

- Macedonia’s tobacco production could reach 20 million kilograms this year, 25% up from 2008.

- Macedonia's citizens could expect cheaper flights to European destinations, particularly next year, following the scrapping of visas as of December 19.  According to the Macedonia's Transport Ministry and the aviation authorities, the visa liberalization should increase the interest of the European low-cost airline companies to fly to and from Macedonia.

DNEVNIK

- Power distribution company EVN Macedonia, part of the Austrian EVN group, will get a new management next year as the four-year mandate of the Executive Board’s two top officials will expire in April. It is still unclear who will replace the Executive Board Chairman, Georg Waldner, and his deputy, Karl Heinz Grossman, who will get new positions in EVN Group, the company said.

- Macedonian heating utility Toplifikacija has asked the country’s energy regulator to increase the price of heating energy in the capital of Skopje by some 20% as of January.
