- Macedonia will not amend its constitution to change the country’s name and will not accept any solution that impairs the Macedonian national and linguistic identity, Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov said. Earlier this week the European Union has postponed until next year its decision for launching entry talks with Macedonia due to Greece’s opposition to the country's name.


- Ohridska Banka, part of France's Societe Generale Group, Komercijalna Banka, ProCredit Banka, power distribution company EVN Macedonia, Renova Holding and IT company INet were awarded certificates for good corporate governance in 2009 by the Transparency - Zero Corruption NGO and the Economic Chamber of Macedonia.
