Macedonia calls pre-qualification tender for railway section construction - TED

SKOPJE (Macedonia), December 21 (SeeNews) – Macedonia called a pre-qualification tender for the preparation of detailed design and tender documentation for the construction of a new railway section from Kicevo to the Albanian border that is part of Corridor VIII, a notice published in the European Union’s procurement journal on Friday indicated.

The tender also refers to the preparation of tender documentation for supervision of construction works, the notice published in the Tenders Electronic Daily (TED) showed.

The maximum budget available for the project is 8.0 million euro ($10.6 million).

The new railway section from Kicevo, in western Macedonia, to the Albanian border will be some 63 kilometres long.

Applications should be sent by January 25, 2013.

Provisional date of invitation to tender is March 12.

Corridor VIII runs from the southern Italian ports of Bari and Brindisi, through Albania and Macedonia to the Bulgarian Black Sea ports of Burgas and Varna.
