Luka Bar leads Montenegro blue-chip gainers in October, share indices rise

November 1 (SeeNews) - Port operator Luka Bar [MNG:LUBA] led the blue-chip gainers on the Montenegrin stock exchange in October, as stock indices ended up, bourse data indicated.

The blue-chip index of the Montenegro Stock Exchange, MNSE10, closed up 11.6% in October at 901.52 points.

The benchmark MONEX index, which tracks the 20 most representative shares on the Montenegro Stock Exchange, went up 10.4% in October and closed at 12,652.90 points.

A total of 378,054 Luka Bar shares changed hands in turnover of 73,310 euro in October. Hipotekarna Banka won 83.1% to 0.79 euro.

Lender Hipotekarna Banka [MNG:HIPB] paced the blue-chip decliners in October, as its share price fell 16.4% on the month to 6.56 euro. A total of 64,010 of the company's shares changed hands, generating a turnover of 419,876 euro.

The bourse's total turnover fell in October to 1.2 million euro ($1.2 million) from 19.2 million euro a month earlier.

A total of 124 transactions were concluded on the bourse in Podgorica in October, versus 97 in September. Stock market capitalisation was 3.336 billion euro at the end of October, up from 3.280 billion euro a month earlier.
