Ljubljana bourse turnover rises 8.7%, equity market cap up 5.3% in 2013

December 30 (SeeNews) - The equity market capitalisation of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) rose 5.3% to 5.17 billion euro ($7.1 billion) at the end of 2013, the bourse operator said on Monday.

Total LJSE turnover rose 8.7% to 392 million euro in 2013, the bourse operator said in a statement.

The LJSE benchmark index SBITOP closed 2013 up 3.17% year-to-date. It ended at 655.66 points on December 30, the last trading day of 2013.

The bulk of the total turnover this year comprised equity deals (76%), while bonds and commercial papers contributed a further 22% and 1.0%, respectively.

The most traded share in 2013 was again drug maker Krka [LJE:KRKG], generating 40% of the total equity turnover. The second largest contributor to overall annual equity turnover was insurer Zavarovalnica Triglav [LJE:ZVTG], which generated 16% of all equity deals, while the third most traded company was Telekom Slovenije [LJE:TLSG], which contributed 11% of all equity deals.
