March 12 (SeeNews) - France-based home improvement and gardening retailer Leroy Merlin will open two new stores in Bucharest, real-estate consultancy Cushman & Wakefield Echinox said on Tuesday.
The two new stores will spread on 8,300 sq m and 13,000 sq m, respectively, at retail spaces located within the Supernova Lujerului and Supernova Pantelimon commercial galleries that Leroy Merlin has leased from European shopping centre developer Supernova, Cushman & Wakefield Echinox who brokered the deal said in a press release.
The value of the transaction was not disclosed.
"By working with Supernova and by opening 2 new stores in Bucharest, we are strengthening our business model: investing in people, expanding the network, digitalization and sustainability," said Mathieu Bauduin, CEO of Leroy Merlin Romania.
Founded in 1923, Leroy Merlin is a subsidiary of Groupe Adeo, an international group specialising in the retail of home improvement products. Leroy Merlin operates 801 stores across 15 countries and employs over 115,000 people. It runs 21 stores with over 3,000 employees in 15 cities in Romania and is the second-largest DIY retailer by revenue in the country.
